Frequently Asked Questions

The most frequently asked questions in the overview

What is the difference between dynamic and static servers?
Static Servers: Static servers are used for the loss-free operation of normal bukkit and spigot servers. They represent normal real-time server instances, which can be managed as usual via MineHook console and FTP.

Dynamic Servers: With dynamic servers MineHook really is special; dynamic servers can be started in bulk via sliders. They are based on a template, which can be freely created and adapted via the MineHook file manager. After a dynamic server has stopped, it is deleted from the hard disk and is ready for restart.
What are daemons?
The MineHook basically consists of two parts, Master and Daemon. The master can be installed on any Linux or Windows server and is used for general administration. The daemons (also known as 'slaves' in the IT business) are used to start and maintain the bukkit and spigot servers. They receive the commands from the master with which they were previously connected.
How do templates work?
Templates can be imagined as folders containing the pattern for a dynamic server. They can be created in MineHook and managed via MineHook file manager or via FTP client. In the settings, you can set the RAM allocation, start file, port range and much more for each template. They are stored in the master and are securely distributed to the daemons when changes are made, so that the dynamic servers can gain access.
What are extensions? Is there an API for developers?
Of course there is! MineHook comes with built-in extension support, which operates live and without rebooting. This allows extensions to be installed, activated, managed or deleted in real time. The simple documentation offers Java developers the possibility to develop their own extensions to the master. It is also possible to install existing extensions from the online catalogue or, upon request, to publish your own extensions in the catalogue.
Can I upgrade my license after buying it?
Of course! For an upgrade after the purchase, contact us by e-mail. We charge for the upgrade the difference in price between both packages and a 20% surcharge.
